re-member-ing

I am good at forgetting,
I am learning the remembering,
again and again,
losing and then finding,
finding and then losing,
again and again

I have been churning for what feels like years...
and now a
momentary re-member-ing
and thanks

Counting YOUR Blessings

What have you acheived?
What are you proud of?
What are you grateful for?
What/who do you know now that you didn't know before?
What do you know about yourself that you didn't know before?

I have been spending time taking inventory of my life from this last year -
a year of many beginnings and endings
For me, September always brings with it a sense of the year cycling around again, the real New Years, with the winds of change fast afoot and the cycle of seasons turning towards winter.
It was this time last year that I was preparing with delicious anxiety and anticipation to fly off to San Francisco to begin my coach training; had chosen to seek adventure in learning again.

I sat in a room and felt intense waves of grace and gratitude that I had found my way there... this landing marking the beginning of much more flight.
And so, I have been flying for a year now and felt compelled to mark this threshold, this continued time of transition, in process, of becoming and unfolding and becoming...

My invitation to you is that you also take time for your own inventory:

Start with a list entitled "In the last year I have..."

Write until you've covered all the aspects of your life you want to celebrate in the last year.

Use this time to acknowledge:
  • How your values have shown up in your life
  • The action steps that have moved you forward
  • The things you have learned
  • The places in you that have come alive, been tested, and shown you more of your magnificence

Read your inventory list out loud to your cat, your partner, and most importantly YOURSELF!

Really let yourself hear the beauty of your impact in your life.

And of course, find a way to CELEBRATE how far you have come.

I would love to hear your responses, celebrations, nudgings and thoughts

Blessings

Momentum

I can feel life picking up speed
the wheels turning beneath me, cycling circles
covering wide ground

This full moon rises- sends out light
knows its source and lets it go
and

HERE I AM
on edges and beginnings
a re-cycled life
new ground under my wheels
blessings bubbling from the cracked pavement
the stretching creaking earth
becoming known

Bombarded or Blessed?

I place my vote in the Blessed camp for sure, given the choice, but often find myself in the bombared/overwhelmed camp of "too much information and so much possibility"...

Living in a world full of delicious possibility at every turn, we are continually asked to make choices about what we really want: What is really important? What direction should we take? What is my own truth in the midst of all these perspectives and options? How do I become the most authentic version of me, rather than a carbon copy of you?

So, how do we make sense of the abundance of possibilities for us in our careers, relationships, creativite expression and way of being? How do we tune in closely with the truth of our own beings in the context of this smorgasborg life?
I would say that it all boils down to our relationship with self: How intimately aquainted are we with our own values? How often and in what ways do we tune into our inner wisdom? How do we respond to the wisdom and intuitive sparks we receive? How can I apply my inner wisdom in the world in my own unique and purposeful way?

In holding all these questions I drop into a feeling of being blessed here and now... feeling honoured by the power to choose, the opportunity to listen into my own inner rumblings with a vast array of both contrast, inspiration and possibility at my finger tips...

With deep gratitude and love'n'stuff

Love After Love

The time will come
when,with elation,
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror,
and each will smile at the other's welcome,
and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you
all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,
the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.

The Secret To You

Way of life

"Countless wise men and women have taught that the major purpose of life is to learn and practice not the art of reaching goals, but the art of loving. These experts, whose recorded teachings date back five thousand years or more, made loving their ultimate concern, and used the path of loving as a spiritual path, a path to God. Regardless of any relationship you may have with an established religion, loving whatever comes to you in life is a spiritual discipline.
This way of life, though filled with familiar people, activities, and objects, never stops taking on new beauty and meaning as you gain experience at following it. No matter how far you have come on the path of loving, you can enver imagine what life will be like around the next bend." ~ Frank Andrews, Ph.D.

Working as a coach and living as a committed personal grower I am both stretched and inspired by this emphasis on love over acheiving goals... Don't we all get caught in the trap of "If only ______, then ________"?
What then is the relationship between my work supporting individuals/groups feeling fulfilled, balanced and awake, and supporting the expansion and expression of love? Once I see that question in print, I recognize the simplicity of my answer- OF COURSE LOVE & FULFILLMENT ARE ONE AND THE SAME!
How can my life and work be more deeply infused with the lived experience of love?
What is possible through holding love out front? Seeing with the heart above all else?

"Ask yourself, and yourself alone, one question - Does this path have heart? All paths are the same; they lead nowhere. They are paths going through the bush or into the bush... Does this path have heart? If it does, the path is good; if it doesn't, it is of no use." - Don Juan

Today I will hold this question deep in my centre and let is speak to me as I know it will: Does this path have heart?
